Newcomer Nikhil Kumar’s second and latest big screen outing has hit a major roadblock and too because of a surprising reason. As it so happens, filmmaker Chethan Kumar had titled the film ‘Hoysala’ and hoped to wrap up its shoot without hiccups.
Now, it seems that producer Ramu had earlier registered the title under his banner for a film that’ll feature the much-loved Shivarajkumar in the lead. Speaking about the issue, Ramu told a leading daily that the makers of Nikhil’s film will have to look for new title as ‘Hoysala’ belongs to him.
The title ‘Hoysala’ is meant for Shivarajkumar and that’s one of the reasons I had kept the name in my possession for a long time. I am now getting a story ready, which suits the name really well. I have told them to look for another title,” he said.
Well, this is an unfortunate situation indeed and makers of Nikhil’s movie will have to zero in on a new title ASAP. They plan to launch the film in a few days from now.
For the uninitiated, Nikhil is the grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda. He made his big screen debut in 2016 with ‘Jaguar’. Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Kannada, it did average business at the box office. Besides the 27-year, this romantic action-drama also featured Deepti Sati in the lead while Tamannaah featured in an item number.
On a related note, this is a difficult time for Shivanna on the personal front. His mother and noted producer Parvathamma passed away on Wednesday at the age of 78.
