Rishab Shetty has geared up with his third directorial project, titled “Sarakari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale, Kasargod Koduge Ramanna Rai”. The project will be a children’s film based on the spate of Kannada medium schools in a Kerala district close to Karnataka. The makers of the film are finishing a final schedule of the film and are heading for the release. The makers of the film recently released the first song of the film and one of the scenes from the song has Anant Nag. He has shot a 15-minute scene in one shot.
Director Rishab Shetty shared in an interview with TOI, “We decided that this would be an interesting scene to do in one shot, and I was confident that Anant sir would do it as he is a theatre person. Cinematographer Venkatesh Anguraj asked me to confirm with him once, so I checked with him.”
Anant Nag further added, “The last time I did a scene that long was many moons ago, for a play directed by my brother Shankar. I had three long monologues. On stage, I realised I was jumping from page 19 to page 25 of the monologue. In theatre, we have no retakes. My team knew I was mixing up the lines, but I managed to salvage it somehow. I told Shankar that I would never set foot on stage again and never did I. Shooting for this scene reminded me of that, but this time I could rely on retakes and it was a pleasurable experience.”
Anant Nag was last seen in Gowdru Hotel and won accoldes for his role in the film. The veteran actor will also be seen in Kavalu Daari which is being directed by Hemanth Rao and present by Kannada power star Puneeth Rajkumar. Besides Anant Nag, Kavalu Daari also stars Rishi, Achyuta Kumar, Suman Ranganathan and Roshni Prakash in pivotal roles. The film will be the first production of Puneeth Rajkumar’s production house.
