A few months ago, Bollywood actress Farida Jalal was also a victim of celebrity death hoax and later the actor had to clarify about the rumours. The same had happened to Bollywood rapper Honey Singh who was not in action for a couple of years which lead to the speculations. The rapper later clarified that he had been fighting depression.

Media reports started coming later that it was a different Rekha who met with an accident and not Rekha Krishnappa. The person who died in the accident is Rekha Sindhu, a model by profession. Rekha Sindhu was on her way to Chennai on a modelling assignment and met with this unfortunate accident. Reports started pouring in later on after the clarification from Rekha Krishnappa.
