The biopic on late former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh titled Yatra has been kickstarted and the lead actor, Mammootty, has already begun shooting for the film. Directed by young filmmaker Mahi Raghav, Yatra will have a lot of big stars including popular faces from various other language industries. And latest reports reveal that the makers have signed on veteran actor Jahapathi Babu to play a key role in the biopic. According to reports in media, Jagapathi Babu would be seen playing Y.S.Raja Reddy who was father of Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, director Mahi Raghav felt that Jagapathi Babu would be the perfect actor who would fit the bill.
Reports in the media reveal that Anasuya Bharadwaj will be seen playing a politician from the Kurnool district who played a key role during YSR’s regime in AP. Reportedly, Anasuya Bharadwaj will share screen space with Mammootty in the biopic. Apparently, director Mahi Raghav is making sure that popular actors are roped in to play even smaller roles to ensure that the film gets a good star value.
Yatra will also star a lot of other top actors which includes names like Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Rao Ramesh. According to reports in the media, Suhasini would be seen playing the then Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and Rao Ramesh would be seen playing K.V.P.Ramachandra Rao who was a very close associate of Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy.
Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy was one of the most celebrated politicians in the then Andhra Pradesh and was also the former Chief Minister. A film on his life story has drawn the attention of many and keeping Telugu audience excited about it. To be directed by Mahi Raghav of Anando Bramha fame, Yatra will also star quite a few stars from various film industries making it a star studded one.
