KGF has opened to earth-shattering numbers today on the first day of its release. Superstar Yash’s film has opened to positive reviews and the opening day collection looks promising for the film to have a great run at the box office. KGF or Kolar Gold Fields Chapter 1 stars Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. This is the first chapter of the film and has also been released in the English language in the United States and Canada. The opening day box office collection prediction was Rs. 20-25 crore worldwide and in Hindi language, it was expected that the film would gross Rs. 3-5 crores. Due to good word of mouth, many trade experts believe that it is expected to be the next Baahubali series.
Ever since the film’s trailer released, there has been an immense buzz around it. It has been one of the most anticipated films of the year. It opened in 400 screens in Karnataka and in Bengaluru alone, the movie has minted Rs. 4 crores on an opening day with over 500 shows in multiple theatres. In the US, the film has grossed Rs. 40 lakh from the premiere shows. With the upcoming festive weekend, it is expected to do phenomenal business at the box office.
The film has been directed by Prasanth Neel and is the story of a man operating in the Mumbai underworld before he gets an assignment to come to Kolar Gold Fields. With the first chapter being so well received, fans are now looking forward to the next chapter.
Due to multiple other films like Maari 2, Kanaa, Seethakaati, Odiyan, Zero and The Accidental Prime Minister running in theatres, the film will face competition, but looking at the audience’s response, the film is expected to gross huge numbers at the box office.
