KGF movie review: Here’s what audience has to say about Yash starrer

After months of promotions and hard work, finally Kannada actor Yash starrer KGF has hit the screens today. The film has released at the box office in five languages Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. Set in the backdrop of late 70s, KGF Chapter 1 traces the history of gold mining and the mafia running it in the generous fields of Karnataka’s Kolar region. The film has been made on a huge budget and is said to be the most expensive film ever made in the Kannada cinema; KGF is having a pan India release and this is one of its highlights. The Hindi version of the film also releases today clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero.

Written and directed by Prasanth Neel, ‘KGF’ is a big-budget flick produced by Vijay Kiragandur. The first reviews of KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) are out and the film is receiving mixed reviews. The moviegoers are in all praise of dashing actor Yash and are liking the way the film has been executed. Check out the first twitter reviews right here and decide yourself if KGF is worth the watch this weekend. Here you go:

Trade analyst Girish Johar in a conversation with Pinkvilla predicted first-day box office numbers of the film.

He said, “KGF will be big down the South but the Hindi market traction and the release is quite at a low level and obviously with a huge competition coming from Zero, I believe the first option of the film for the audience will be Zero in Hindi market. Considering everything falls into place for KGF, it should open anywhere between Rs 3-5 crores (Hindi version). Weekend collection depends on the word of mouth and if the film opens to around Rs 4crores, then it should go to around Rs 13-15 crores over the first weekend. But if it is not received well in the Hindi market then it would end up at around Rs 10 crores.”
