Former Chief Minister of Karnataka planned to launch his son Nikhil Kumar as a hero and the platform laid for him was majestic. The budget for the film was a whopping INR 75 crore and had very senior actors like Jagapathi Babu and Ramya Krishna playing some crucial roles. The film was shot in Kannada and Telugu and was released simultaneously with a lot of gung-ho. There were loads of expectations on the film but it disappointed everyone including the makers of it. The film was a wreck at the box-office and the producers did not break even with this project.
The failure did not affect Nikhil Kumar and made him more focused. He now starts shooting for his second venture and this one too will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu. This untitled film is going to be directed by Chethan Kumar who was also a part of Jaguar as lyricist for a couple of songs. Chethan narrated the story to Nikhil and after series of discussion, the final nod came from Nikhil’s father HD Kumaraswamy. The producers of the film are Nikhil’s family and will be presented by Anitha Kumaraswamy and HD Kumaraswamy under home banner Channambika Films. An official confirmation is awaited regarding the rest of the details of the film.
Rumors are that Nikhil is also in discussions with controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma regarding his debut in Bollywood. We had earlier reported that soon there would be an official announcement regarding this. With everything going so smoothly, Nikhil and his family would be one happy group.
Hope Nikhil gains hiss ground in the industry with his second venture.
