Last year, young actor Priya Anand added a new dimension to her career when her maiden Kannada film Raajakumara opened to a terrific response at the box office and turned out to be a blockbuster. In it, she was seen opposite Puneeth Rajkumar and received praise for her work. Talking about her role, she had said that she really enjoyed teaching the ‘Power Star’ salsa onscreen and found the experience to be ‘crazy’.
“One of the craziest parts of the film is how I teach dancing to Puneeth. It sounds crazy, right? He is such a great dancer, and the idea of me teaching him to dance was quite mad! I kept telling Santosh that the script needed to change as my part was very funny, and it made no sense that I taught dance to Puneeth Rajkumar,” she had told a leading daily.
Now, Priya is set to return to Sandalwood. In an exciting development, the young star will; be seen playing the female lead opposite ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh in Orange. The film will be directed by Prashant Raj and is expected to be a treat for fans.
Well, we wish Priya good luck and hope that the film does well at the box office. On a related note, this is a busy time for her. Besides Orange, she also has Kayamkulam Kochunni in her kitty. It is a period film an also has Nivin Pauly in the lead. Sometime ago, while talking about the film, she had said that her character is quite relatable.
“Although the story is set in 19th century, everything my character goes through happens even today. It was easier for me to connect. The challenging part was picking up the language, the dialect to be precise because it’s a period film,” she had told a leading website.
So, are you excited about her lineup of films? Comments, please!
