If you are a fan of the much-loved Priyanka Upendra then we have some good news in store for you. According to a leading daily, she is all set to play the role of a constable in an upcoming Kannada film titled ‘Second Half’. The movie will be directed by yogi and is touted to be a thriller. Opening up about the role, she said she plays very relatable character in ‘Second Half’.
“Her dream is to be of service to society, so she sets out to become a police constable. It is then that she realizes how tough women have it in the police department, so the story traces her rise from an underdog to an achiever,” she added.
Moreover, she added that unlike several other commercial films, this one highlights the journey of the female character without portraying her as a victim or a vamp.
“A woman is either portrayed to be a vamp, victim or a superwoman. But little do we realize that her journey is made up of a lot more and that is what we want to showcase through the film,” she said.
Interestingly, Priyanka’s career received a shot in the arm after she starred in the 2016 release ‘Mummy’. Touted to a horror-drama. It was based on a true story and also featured Yuvina in the lead. Since its release, Priyanka has apparently received offers to star in several heroine-centric horror movies.
However, she did take them up as she did not want to get typecast. Well, we hope ‘Second Half’ helps her experiment with her onscreen image and find success along the way.
