Samantha Akkineni all praises for U Turn director Pawan Kumar

Samantha Akkineni, who is currently riding high on success with back to back hits, has geared up for the Tamil and Telugu remake of 2016 Kannada blockbuster ‘U Turn’, a paranormal thriller. Being directed by Pawan Kumar, the film is about the mystery behind the death of motorists who dies after breaking traffic rules on a flyover in Bengaluru. Well, the first look of the film has left audience quite excited in which Samantha will be essaying Shraddha Srinath’s role. The gritty first look of the film has grabbed all the attention. Meanwhile, director Pawan Kumar and Samantha only have praise for each other.

Well, Pawan Kumar is all praises for the stunning actress. Talking to Times Of India, Pawan said, “All praises to Samantha for her intense involvement into the project from the beginning. She was so much attached to the film even before the original version was released and came forward voluntarily to promote it, too. A filmmaker’s creation is complete when the appropriate actors get onboard. Especially, when it comes to remake, the responsibility to find apt ones are much more burdensome. But Samantha made it easier and I felt she would do the best justice to this role. With her fan base across South industry inclined to big numbers, I am elated that my work will gain a huge mileage.”

On the other hand, Samantha replied, “It was not that I chose the film, but it chose me. I would say, it’s a blessing to get such opportunities and if missed it would be lifetime guilt. When I saw his original work, I just couldn’t control but turned irresistible to be a part of it. U-Turn has raciness, mystery and a strong issue interwoven together. Moreover, it’s a film that has something for the audience to reflect. It’s an everyday issue we come across and this basic premise prompted me to go for it. It’s quite a commonality, where a filmmaker’s success with original version might not be the same with remakes. This is because of regional adaptation, which becomes a huge challenge. But Pawan being conscious about it emphasized more attention to it by the pre-production phase. Even his casting of actors has been tremendous. Every character in the film has its own prominence and will take the story to next level.”
