Kannada actor Edekkalu Chandrashekhar passed away due to a massive cardiac arrest he suffered. The actor was in Canada when he suffered the cardiac arrest and passed away after attempts were made to revive the actors pulse, reports reveal. A seasoned actor in Kannada film industry, Chandrashekhar has worked with veteran filmmakers like Vishnuvardhan and Rajkumar, and is known for playing important roles. Chandrashekhar was last seen in ‘3 Gante 30 Dina 30 second’ which stars Arun Gowda and Kavya Shetty. The film just released and is still running in the cinema halls in Karnataka. Edekkalu Chandrashekhar is survived by his wife and a daughter. Kannada film industry is mourning the demise of Edekkalu Chandrashekhar and has posted condolences message on social media. More details about the exact reason of passing away of the actor is yet to be known and are expected to be learnt as the day passes.
Edekkalu Chandrashekhar was popular for his role as Nanjunda in the film Edekkalu Guddada Mele which was released in 1973. Chandrashekhar has done few shows in television as well which includes Yeradu Kanasu. Chandrashekhar moved to Canada after getting married and workied with the Indian High Commission in Toronto. Chandrashekhar made his debut as a filmmaker with ‘Poorvapara’ and which was the first Kannada movie to be screened at the Toronto Film Festival that year. Chandrashekhar was also seen in the recent Kannada movie ‘Chakravarthy’ which featured Challenging Star Darshan.
The veteran actor had made his acting debut as a child actor and shot to fame as a lead actor in ‘Edakallu Guddadamele’ which was directed by Putanna Kanagal. The title ‘Edakallu Guddadamele’ became his first name and he became more popular as Edakallu Guddadamele Chandrashekhar. Kannada film industry actors and many more celebrities have expressed their condolences on social media after learning about his demise.
