Shiva Rajkumar to star in Kannada remake of Mohanlal starrer Oppam?

Reports suggest that the remake will be directed by GVR Vasu who has worked as an associate with ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma.

Sandalwood top star is currently shooting for his upcoming multi-starrer with Kichcha Sudeep, Villain, which is being directed by Prem. The film will feature both the stars in a never seen before look much to the joy of their fans. And according to latest buzz in film circles in South India, actor Shiva Rajkumar may feature in the remake of Malayalam super-hit film Oppam. Reports are doing rounds that the talks have been initiated for this remake and Shiva Rajkumar will likely reprise Mohanlal’s role in the Kannada remake of Oppam.

The remake will be directed by GVR Vasu who has worked as an associate with ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, reports indicate. Few media reports are also suggesting that the remake may go on floors in October this year. Oppam, which featured Mohanlal, Samuthirakani and Anushree in the lead roles, was also dubbed into Tamil which tasted a decent success.

Sandalwood will witness a multi-starrer film after a long time with two pillars of the industry collaborating for the first time. The first look posters of Villain, starring Kiccha Sudeep and Shiva Rajkumar, were revealed few months ago which sent the fans into a frenzy with their looks in the film. The excitement levels around the film are quite heavy given the stature of the stars involved in the film.

It was also being reported that Villain will be made in Malayalam too and Mohanlal has been roped in for an important role in the film.
