During a recent interaction with a leading daily, Murali Gurappa—who is currently awaiting the release of his directorial debut ‘Siliconn City’, opened up about working with a young and said that he enjoyed the experience a lot.
“The atmosphere on the set was such that there wasn’t a single day when someone said they were not interested to work. Even though it was my first film, everyone respected my position as a director. It was an awesome first experience as a director, he added.
Moreover, he added that ‘Siliconn City’ is a film that has a strong message for society and hence is quite a relatable affair.
“As a director, I wanted to make a film that connects with people — one they can understand and which has a message for the society. Siliconn City has all that,” he added.
Interestingly, the film is the official Kannada remake of the Tamil action- drama ‘Metro’. As it so happens, Murali had no qualms about remaking the original as he liked its subject/plot quite a lot.
“I was confident about the film because I liked the subject. The story in the movie inspired me; it is about a middle-class family. I am also from a middle-class family and have experienced a few aspects that you see in the film,” he added.
On a related note, ‘Siliconn City’ features Srinagar Kitty and Suraj Gowda in the lead and will hit screens tomorrow. We hope that it does well at the ticket window.
