Having played the role of antagonist in many Telugu, Tamil and Bollywood movies, actor Sonu Sood will now be seen playing the mythological role of Arjuna from Mahabharata in a Kannada film which is titled Kurukshetra. The film will be directed by Naganna, reports say, and the shooting of the film will begin soon. Sonu Sood says that he is humbled to be playing such role and seems pretty excited to start shooting for it.
“I am playing the role of Arjuna in Kurukshetra. It is great fun to work as Arjuna. I am thoroughly enjoying it. I am humbled as I got to play such an interesting role,” Sonu Sood was quoted in a report in HT.
“My mom Saroj Sood is a professor in English and History. I still have her books, which are a priced possession. I read about Kurukshetra. As a kid we used to enjoy listening to the story,” Sonu Sood added further.
Talking about the film Kurukshetra, Sonu Sood said, “This film is a modern day version, it is little new. Also it is not a mythological look but the period is that. It is a newer version for the younger generation to enjoy. It is more casual, relaxed and today but larger than life.”
Sonu Sood was last seen in Devi which also stared Tamannaah Bhati and Prabhu Dheva. Lately, Sonu hasn’t appeared in films in South and Kurukshetra will be his first film in more than a year now.
