During a recent chat with a leading daily, Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep weighed in on actor-filmmaker Upendra’s entry into politics and said that he supports his decision. He, however, made it clear that he would not campaign for the ‘Real Stars’ he considers it to be out of bounds.
“Upendra is a friend, we have grown up together. I am glad that he is taking steps and moving towards what he wants to do. He is fulfilling his desire, and we will always support him. But campaigning goes out of my parameters, I have stayed away from it. I do not want to promise what I am not sure off,” he added.
Well, these are some strong words and could create a buzz amongst fans. In case you did not know, some time ago, Uppi had announced that he would be forming his own political party and adding a new dimension to his career. He had also said that his party would work for the development of everyone without any discrimination.
“Politics is about the people, not politicians. For some reason, the system has been corrupted. In a real democracy, people are the kings and ministers are their servants who are paid salaries from the money collected from us as taxes,” he had added.
On a related note, while Upendra gears up to make his political debut, Sudeep is busy shooting for The Villain. In the Prem directorial, he will be seen alongside the legendary Shivanna and Amy Jackson.
