Sudeep: Vishnuvardhan memorial in Bengaluru holds a big place in our hearts

Kannada top star Kichcha Sudeep recently met the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah regarding something which will make the fans of the star and the Kannada film industry both, happy and proud. Sudeep discussed about the proposed memorial for late legendary actor Vishnuvardhan in Mysore by replacing the current on in Bengaluru. Sudeep said he is happy that the government is taking steps and recognising the Kannada film industry, however, many fans including himself might be disappointed if the current memorial of Vishnuvardhan in Bengaluru is moved to Mysore. And to make sure things are progressing in the right direction, Sudeep decided to step in and discuss the same with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“It’s great that the government has planned the smaraka in Mysuru, and all of us from the industry will always support it. But the Vishnuvardhan memorial in Bengaluru holds a big place in our hearts. That is the place where his funeral took place and taking it away is like erasing that part of our memories,” Sudeep told TOI talking about Vishnuvardhan’s memorial.

“This does not mean that we are asking for this piece of land to be made available to us for free. I am looking at buying half an acre of land surrounding the memorial so that not only people from the industry, but even fans who have adored Vishnuvardhan can continue to visit it whenever they want,” the Kichcha star added further.

Sudeep also said that the CM did listen to him and said he will have personnel work on it to get things in place. “I met and spoke with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about this and he was kind enough to hear me out. He’s even agreed to put my proposed process in place. I always looked up to Vishnuvardhan sir and have received only love and kindness from his family. This is really the least that I could do from my side. We will begin work on making the memorial more visitor friendly soon,” Sudeep further added.

This sure will be a happy moment for the Kannada film industry and also to the fans of the late actor Vishnuvardhan who has a huge following in the state of Karnataka. Vishnuvardhan is known for his performances in films like Bandhana, Apthamitra, Muthina Haara and Naagarahaavu amongst many other movies.
