There can be no denying that a lot has happened in the Southern film industries over the past few days. And, needless to say, some of these things have shocked fans  to the core. On one hand, a popular actor found himself in trouble with the cops. On the other hand, a veteran superstar found himself in trouble with the fringe. Today, let us take a look at the people who dominated headlines over the week.

Dileep: On Monday, Malayalam star Dileep was arrested in connection with the actress abduction case which had rocked the industry in February. Following this, some Malayalam actors attended an emergency meeting of AMMA and expelled him from the group.

 

Kamal Haasan: The veteran actor found himself in a difficult situation when a fringe activist group asked for  his arrest and requested the authorities to ban his TV show ‘Bigg Boss’. Interestingly, according to the group, the show goes against the values associated with Tamil culture.

 

Mammootty: Mammootty: Mammootty recently took to Facebook and unveiled the first look poster of his film ‘Pullikkaran Staraa’. The film is slated to hit screens this Onam.

Taapsee Pannu: A few days ago, Taapsee Pannu received severe criticism for ridiculing K Raghavendra Rao and his ‘navel fixation. Yesterday, she apologised for his comments and said that she did not wish to offend anyone with her remarks.

Rajinikanth: Rajinikanth returned to Chennai, earlier this week. Thereafter, he resumed the shoot of ‘Kaala’.

Telugu Film Industry: The whole Telugu Film Industry came under a scanner when the excise department sent notices to several stars in connection with a drugs scandal.

Vivegam: The makers of his much-hyped Ajith Kumar, starrer revealed that the film would hit screens on 11 August.

Vithika Sheru: The actress became the talk of the town when rumours of her attempting suicide began doing the rounds. She soon rubbished all these rumours and said that she had taken pills because of jet lag.
