Mohanlal is arguably one of the biggest names in Malayalam cinema today. And, now the veteran superstar is back to entertain fans with his latest release ‘Villain’, which hit screens today. An emotional-thriller, it has been directed by B Unnikrishnan and features ‘Lalettan’ in the role of a retired cop. One of the biggest Malayalam films in recent times, it explores how there are shades of grey in every situation. Besides Mohanlal, it also features Manju Warrier in the lead. Tamil stars Vishal and Hansika Motwani too are a part of the cast and are making their Mollywood debuts with the film. Sometime ago, Vishal had said that he will be seen playing the role of a doctor in ‘Villain’.
“I essay a doctor in the film with dual dimension and two different looks. In the contemporary portions, I will be sporting spectacles with a moustache and a stubble. In the flashback portions, I am a clean-shaven medical college student,” he had said.
Similarly, Hansika had said that she will be adding a new dimension to her onscreen image with her performance in ‘Villain’.
“I can’t divulge more since it is a suspense thriller. For now, let’s just say that it is very performance-oriented,” she had added.
Interestingly, the film grabbed plenty of attention prior to its release thanks to its trailer and Lalettan-Manju Warrier’s crackling chemistry. With that said and done let us take a look at what tweeple feel about ‘Villain’.
