In 2014, powerhouse performer Kangana Ranaut became the toast of B-town when she delivered a relatable performance in Queen and received rave reviews along the way. To make things even better, the film fared well at the box office and helped her bag a National award. Nearly four years down the line, the Bollywood hit is being remade in four major South Indian languages. And now, it seems that the buzz surrounding the Mollywood remake Zam Zam is set to reach new heights.
As it so happens, a new still from the film has been released. And, needless to say, it is good. In it, actor Manjima Mohan can be seen in a simple and bubbly avatar that she carries off like a boss. Her innocent smile gels with her look and ups its recall value in a big way. We are sure that the lady will create magic on the big screen.
In case you did not know, Zam Zam is being helmed by Neelakanta Reddy and will feature Manjima in the role of a naive young girl. Significant parts of the film were shot in France. Some time ago, she had said that shoot for the film was a nice but challenging experience for her.
“It was fun playing the role. At first, I was scared that I won’t be able to pull off this role when I left to France. But as I was doing it, I really enjoyed it. It was challenging because you had to be as natural as possible. You can’t fake innocence and my character had to portray that on screen. Several times, the director would tell me that he wants more innocence. There are scenes where I took 5-6 takes in the first week because I couldn’t bring out the expressions he wanted. But after that you get used to it and you know how to go about the character,” she had told a leading website
Well, we wish Manjima good luck for Zam Zam and hope that it turns out to be a hit. So, did you like this new still? Comments, please!
