Actor Dileep, who was arrested in connection with the Malayalam actress case on July 10th this year, gets bail from the Kerala High Court today after spending 85 days in jail. Dileep’s bail was previously rejected four times by the districts court in Angamaly and the Kerala High Court. The prosecution had argued previously that his bail may affect the proceedings of the case. This is the fifth time that Dileep’s lawyers applied for bail and the court granted him bail this time. More details about the bail are yet to divulged by Dileep’s lawyers and prosecution in the case.
Dileep was arrested on the basis of prime accused, Pulsar Suni’s statements and questioning by the police. The Aluva club police proceeded with the arrest of Dileep in July after they are said to have found irrefutable evidence against the actor. Dileep, along with actor-director Nadirshah, was questioned by the investigating officials in July in connection with the Malayalam actress assault case. The police hatched the conspiracy after Pulsar Suni’s cell mates revealed to officials that Suni had made calls to Dileep’s manager Appunni and Nadirshah while he was in the jail.
The Malayalam actress, who has worked majorly in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted from her moving car and assaulted by unknown men in February this year. The actress later approached the police and filed a complaint, following which the police arrested Pulsar Suni along with his associates who helped him carrying out the abduction of the Malayalam actress.
