After Dileep was arrested by the Kerala police for allegedly conspiring the assault and abduction of the Malayalam actress, a lot of theories and new facets of the Malayalam film industry are emerging gradually. Dileep was at the peak of his career as an actor, producer, distributor and a theatre screening partner which took a jolt after his arrest in July early this year. Dileep is said to have hired goons to kidnap and sexually assault the Malayalam actress to seek revenge for spilling beans to his ex-wife Manju Warrier for his alleged extra-marital affairs. The case has, so far, taken many twists and turns with many unheard facts coming to the forefront.
Dileep rose to stardom gradually in Malayalam cinema with many hit films under his belt and slowly started moving towards production and distribution. Unlike his senior super stars, Mammootty and Mohanlal, Dileep directly dealt with the transactions and dealing without having any aide involved. This helped him get an apex stage in his career but also caused him to get to the stage he is at today.
Dileep currently has Ramleela lined up for release, which has very bleak chances of hitting the screens though, and couple of films in the making which are most likely to shelved. The producers of all these three films are probably in no man’s land at the present moment after all what has happened with Dileep in the last one month or so.
What needs to be watched out for would how the Malayalam film industry would deal with these films getting shelved/stopped due to Dileep’s arrest and how the directors of these films will be treated by their colleagues from the industry.
