The Kerala High Court was scheduled to be hear the bail plea of actor Dileep on Monday in connection with the Malayalam actress case. But latest reports suggest that the bail plea has been postponed to Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017. The High Court postponed the hearing after the prosecution requested the court for it since their lawyers were not in town and are traveling to attend the funeral of former Advocate General MK Damodaran in Kannur.

According to media reports, The High Court agreed to their request and rescheduled the hearing date since the lawyers would not be available for a genuine reason. Dileep’s lawyers have filed a fresh bail plea after the Angamaly Court and the Kerala High Court, both, had rejected the bail plea stating release of the actor from jail at this stage might influence the investigation by the police. The court has extended the judicial custody of actor Dileep till August 22, 2017 while rejecting the bail plea.

Dileep was arrested by the Aluva Club police on July 10th, 2017 after police found irrefutable against the actor in the Malayalam actress assault case. The prime accused, Pulsar Suni, is said to have told the police officials that Dileep had contracted him to carry out the assault and record it on a phone, the remand report of Dileep had stated. Pulsar Suni had also said that, while being taken to the court a while ago, that many more bigger people will be arrested soon and the real culprits will be caught in the case.
