There can be no denying that Suraj Venjaramoodu is one of the most versatile actors in Malayalam cinema today. During his career, he has essayed comic characters as well as serious ones with relative ease. And now, he is set to act in a film based on a relevant issue. According to a leading daily, the actor will be playing the protagonist in a film about water conservation.
Revealing more about the project, its scriptwriter Santhosh said that the film will be a satire but will contain several commercial elements as well.
“It delves deep into how badly it affects a family and the society at large. It also discusses the political and social dimensions of the issue, one could also draw parallels with the Tamil film ‘Thanneer Thanneer’,” he added.
Moreover, revealing more about Suraj’s character, Santhosh said that he will be playing the role of a man named Subramaniam.
“He will be seen essaying the role of a man called Subramaniam in the film. He belongs to a village that is affected by water scarcity. However, the pond in front of Suraj’s house is always full and so he doesn’t have suffer from water woes,” he said.
Expected to go on floors this October, the film will feature Alencier Ley, Sudheer Karamana and Sudhi Koppa in pivotal roles. Interestingly, its female leads have not been finalised yet.
Well, it goes without saying that this yet to be titled film could turn out to be a major release in his career. We hope, it does well at the ticket window.
