During a recently-held press meet actor, Kamal Haasan had expressed his views on the infamous actress assault case and ended up revealing the victim’s name. Needless to say, following this, he found himself at receiving the end of severe criticism. Moreover, to make matters worse, NCW even sent him a notice and asked him to apologise for his actions.

Now, Haasan has broken his silence on the matter. He recently took to twitter and tendered an apology. He went on to add that he was apologising as no one is above the law.

“Apologize say women, while I love & fight 4them.I wiill bend 2 no woman or man 4 no reason. U r penalizing the lawyer & missing criminals. Cant name her? Name her after my mother or my daughter. This war will be fought.Yehhai Mahabharath katha. Jago My lady bharath. Salaam. If you still want me to apoligize I will. No one is above law …except your gods. God is no reason just a ruse for some,” Haasan added.

In case you did not know, this February, a popular Malayalam actress was assaulted and molested while on her way to Kochi. Earlier this week, cops called Dileep for questioning in connection with the case and arrested him, thereafter.

On a related note, this is a busy time for Haasan. He is currently busy hosting ‘Bigg Boss’. Besides this, he has two high profile films in his kitty. They are the spy-thriller ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ and the spy-comedy ‘Sabaash Naidu’.

the point is that it should be HER decision about whether or not she wants her identity to be widely known. No one,not even the police have the right to publish her name and as a reformist and father of two daughters, i would have expected greater sensitivity from kamal hasan

Everybody and their dog knows who the actress is. Just a few days ago all the news outlets were carrying her name. The public is not absent minded.

Forget Kamal, the media themselves should be apologizing for putting out her name and sensationalizing it too much.
