Ahaana Krishna: A commercial success like ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’ has a different feel altogether

Actress Ahaana Krishna, daughter of Malayalam actor Krishna Kumar, made her debut with Njan Steve Lopez in 2014 and was very well received by the Malayalam audience. After Njan Steve Lopez, Ahaana Krishna bagged a role opposite Nivin Pauly in the recently released Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela which turned out to the winner of the Onam releases this season. The film went on to become one of the hits in 2017 and got Ahaana her first commercial hit in her career. Speaking to a leading daily, Ahaana opened up about how it was working with Nivin Pauly and how it feels like to be a part of a commercial hit film like Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela.

Though I had done the film Njan Steve Lopez earlier, it has been more than two years, so it felt like I was making a debut all over again. I’ll always be proud to say I began acting with Njan Steve Lopez, it was a brilliant film, but at the same time, it was not a commercial film. A commercial success has a different feel altogether,” said Ahaana speaking to TOI.

Speaking about working with Nivin Pauly and her experience with the ‘Premam’ team, Ahaana said, “The Premam team were keen to include me into their team. So we became one big group of friends and the vibes were really good on the set. As for Nivin Pauly, I was in Class 11 when Thattathin Marayathu released. Like most girls, I was a huge fan of Nivin and it continued with Premam. So I always liked Nivin but had never met him. So when we shot the first scene together, the one where the family prays together, I had butterflies inside my stomach. But he is such a jovial person on the set that within two days, we forget he is a star. Now I’m friends with his wife Rinna and son Dada as well.”
