Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA) expels Dileep as treasurer after his arrest

The association called for an emergency meeting this meeting and took this decision.

Actor Dileep has been the treasurer of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA) for a long time now and has been an integral part of the association. However, after the arrest of Dileep the association has now expelled him as the treasurer from its ranks. Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA) has for long supported Dileep in the Malayalam actress abduction case and stood by him.

Members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA) held an emergency meeting today at Mammotty’s residence, who is the general secretary of the association. A decision by executive committee to expel Dileep from the membership association after the recent developments and in the best interests of the association, according to reports.

The first people to walk in to attend the meeting was actor Prithviraj Sukumaran who has been in support of the Malayalam actress since the incident took place in February early this year. Actress Remya Nambeesan was the next one to enter Mammotty’s residence to attend the emergency meeting.

A few weeks ago, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists(AMMA) had said in a meeting that they are in support of Dileep and will do their best to protect him. After Dileep got arrested on Monday, the association has now disowned by expelling him from the membership and also as the treasurer.

With Dileep’s arrest, the Malayalam actress assault case is now the most talked about in Kerala and has become the focal point of Malayalam film industry. Also, with police indicating that there might be more arrests made, the case is taking many more twists.
