Actor Dileep’s return to Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) is currently a talk of the town. The industry is divided into opinions over the return of Dileep. This Sunday, the AMMA under its newly appointed president, superstar Mohanlal decided to bring the actor back to the association. A year after his ouster, he is back and this has not gone well among the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC).

On Wednesday, four actresses Rima Kallingal, Remya Nambeesan, Geethu Mohandas and the victim of the sexual assault quit AMMA. They reacted furiously by putting resignation. Well, many celebrities from the industry have been putting their views over the same and the recent one is Prithviraj.

In conversation with a magazine, the actor said that he appreciates the brave decision of the four actresses. He said, “There may be people who criticise them but I believe that right or wrong depends on one’s perception.”

Further talking about why he is still quite over the controversy, he added, “I will certainly make my position clear soon at the right time and space.”

Meanwhile, the survivor of the assault, wrote in her resignation statement, “Prior to this, this actor has snatched away opportunities of acting from me. When I had complained at that time, AMMA did not act seriously on my complaint. And when such a terrible incident happened, an organisation that I am also a part of tried to protect the man who has been accused of the crime. Realising that there is no purpose in being a part of such an organisation, I hereby resign.”

Not only the women of the association, even political leaders have slammed this movie by AMMA.
