A short while ago, rumours about Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaaan playing a cop in a film to be directed by Anwar Rasheed began doing the rounds. And, as expected, this created quite a buzz amongst movie buffs. Now, Anwar has finally reacted to these reports. He recently described these rumours as ‘fake news’ and stressed that he is not doing any film with DQ, at present.
“That news is fake. I am currently busy with shooting my film ‘Trance.’ The first schedule is over and we will soon start the next,” he added.
Well, that clears the air and puts all speculation to rest.
On a related note, Anwar’s above mentioned ‘Trance’ is one of the most eagerly-awaited films of the year and features Fahadh Faasil in the lead. Besides this, Anwar also has three production ventures lined up for release next year. Interestingly, one of them features DQ’s dad and veteran star Mammootty in the lead.
As far as Dulquer is concerned, he will next be seen in the keenly-awaited ‘Solo’. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, it is a romantic-thriller and also features Neha Sharma-Shruthi Hariharan in the lead. Besides this, he also has the Savitri biopic in his kitty. He’ll be playing a character based on Gemini Ganesan in this one. Recently while talking about the film, he said that he will not be mimicking the yesteryear star in this one.
“I’m not going to look like him. I can’t, honestly, and I don’t want to wear prosthetic. My approach is simple. I would like to be me in the 1950s and play myself if I was a big movie star,” he had said.
So, are you looking forward to DQ’s future projects? Comments, please!
