Mollywood heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan is one of the best and versatile actors of the industry. Now, he is all set to take Bollywood by storm as well, Dulquer is gearing up for his Bollywood debut Akarsh Khurana-directed Karwaan, which also features Irrfan Khan, and web series star Mithila Palkar. Besides being an amazing actor, he is also a pure family man. Dulquer Salmaan has always been vocal about his love for his daughter Maryam.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the doting father of a little munchkin princess, expresses his love for kids. He said, “I’ve always been good with kids. My sister Surumi has two boys whom I love dearly, but nothing can prepare you for your own child. When Maryam was born, I took time off from work to be with her and it was wonderful!” says daddy. We can swear he was smiling as the our cross-continental telephonic trip finally wound to an end.”
During the same interview, Dulquer also spoke about his 2015 Mani Ratnam directed Tamil romantic drama, OK Kanmani. As we all know, the film was remade in Hindi as OK Jaanu with Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur as leads.
When asked about his thoughts on the Hindi remake, he said, “It was a good attempt but the concept of living-in was newer in the South as compared to Mumbai.”
He further added that there were attempts to remake his Ustad Hotel and Bangalore Days in Hindi too.

Talking about Karwaan, the film is a light-hearted drama about a road trip. its a story about three people from different walks of life meeting on a road trip. The film will also mark Mithila Palkar’s Bollywood debut. An Akarsh Khurana directorial, it also features Amala Akkineni in a key role. Besides, it is also the directorial debut of Akarsh Khurana – the dialogue writer for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States. A major part of the movie has been shot in Kochi and Ootty.
