A few days ago, Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan shared the first look poster of his dad Mammootty’s ‘Bilal’ and gave fans a big reason to rejoice. As it so happens, this led to rumours of him being a part of the Amal Neerad directed sequel to ‘Big B’. The fact that DQ and Amal Neerad have previously joined hands for films like ‘Comrade in America’ added new life to these speculations.
Now, the director has finally broken his silence on the matter. He recently told a leading daily that there is no room for Dulquer in ‘Bilal’. However, at the same time, he stressed that the ‘Solo’ actor is a terrific performer and can add a new dimension to any film.
“I have always enjoyed working with Dulquer. He’s a great actor and only adds more value to any film that he’s part of. But in Bilal, I do not think there is space for him. He will not be part of the movie,” he added.
Well, that kind of puts all rumours to rest and we’ll just have to wait longer to see DQ-Mammootty on the big screen together.
On a related note, this is a busy time for DQ as well as Mammootty. At present, the megastar has several films in his kitty. They include ‘Streetlights’, ‘Masterpiece’ and ‘Peranbu’ to name a few. On the other hand, DQ will soon be seen playing a character modelled on Gemini Ganesan in ‘Mahanati’.
So, are you excited about ‘Bilal’? Comments, please!
