During a recent interaction with a leading daily, Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan opened up about his future plans and said that he would love to try his hand at filmmaking in the days to come. The 31-year-old heartthrob went on to add he has a few storylines in mind but has not put anything down on paper yet.
“I am very bad at putting pen to paper. But I have broad storylines in my head. But before anything else, it’s direction that I want to do. I have always been fascinated with direction. But then, I didn’t want to make it look like I am running away from acting or the comparisons to my father. So, I decided to face the fear head on and became an actor. As for production, I would like to support smaller films and ideally not produce my own movies,” added DQ.
Well, we sincerely hope that Dulquer is able to fulfil this wish in the days to come and add another dimension to his career.
On a related note, DQ will soon be seen in ‘Solo’. Touted to be a romantic-thriller, it has been directed by Bejoy Nambiar and will hit screens on October 5. Besides this, DQ also has the eagerly-awaited Savitri biopic in his kitty. A Tamil-Telugu bilingual, it features Keerthy Suresh in the titular role and has been directed by Ashwin Nag. In it, Dulquer will be seen playing a character based on yesteryear superstar Gemini Ganesan.
So, do you think DQ will make a good director? Comments, please!
