Evidence in the case are more shocking than that of Nirbhaya gang-rape case, says prosecution in Malayalam actress assault case

The prosecution in the case has requested the court to allow in-camera proceedings when victim appears for hearing.

Actor Dileep was arrested by the Aluva police on July 10th, 2017 after finding enough evidence for conspiring the kidnap and assault of a famous Kerala actress who has worked in Tamil and Telugu films. The actress was abducted from her car on the night of February 17th, 2017 and was assaulted sexually for more than 2 hours, and later left alone on a highway near Kochi. The Kerala police arrested Pulsar Suni after 6 days of the incident, and since then there have been some unexpected turns in this case.

And in latest developments, the prosecution in the Malayalam actress case has requested the court to grant permission for in-camera proceedings of the victim in the case. “The evidence in the case are more shocking than that of the infamous Nirbhaya gang-rape case,” the prosecution told the Angamaly court according to latest reports. The prosecution has also requested the Angamaly court to not hand over the copy of the recordings to the defendant in the case.

Actor Dileep being taken back to jail after court proceedings

The court hasn’t yet taken a call on this request but reports suggest that the decision might be in favour of the prosecution. The court has also extended the judicial custody of actor Dileep after the Kerala High Court rejected the bail plea of the actor. Dileep is currently jailed at the sub jail in Aluva and further proceedings of the case shall be via video conference, according to latest developments.

The police also questioned actress and wife of Dileep Kavya Madhavan on Tuesday in Kochi in connection with the Malayalam actress assault case. More details on this are yet to be revealed by the officials.
