National award winner Fahadh Faasil, who is known for his experimental roles, is all set for his next project Kumbalangi Nights, a film helmed by debutant Madhu C Narayanan. The film that has been written by Syam Pushkaran, will reportedly see the actor playing a negative role.
Talking about the film, director Madhu while talking to TOI revealed, “The film is a family entertainer and as the title suggests, Kumbalangi and its adjacent locales will be the main location of the film. Shane Nigam, Soubin Shahir, Srinath Bhasi and newbie Mathew Thomas are cast as the main characters of the movie. The four are brothers in the film.”
Further revealing about Fahadh’s role in the film, the director said, “His character is a prominent one in the film and the story is set in the contemporary era, but we aren’t in a position to divulge anything more about the role.”
The film is all set to go on floors in August this year. The makers are yet in a finding of the lead actress for the film. Audition for the role will be conducted soon. Syam Pushkaran is for the first time writing a script for this genre and is quite excited about it. More details about the film are awaited.
Fahadh Faasil will also be seen in a film titled Aanenkilum Allenkilum which will be directed by newcomer Vivek. The film will see Fahadh playing an urban role. The makers have signed on Catherine Tresa as the female lead. The film will reportedly see her playing a village belle who resides in Koottickal, Kottayam. The story is completely set against a Christian backdrop. Catherine Tresa will be making a comeback with this film in Malayalam and was last seen in 2010 release The Thriller starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.
