Actress Parvathy, who just made her Bollywood debut with ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’, was awarded the Best Actress Award for her role in ‘Take Off’ at the International Film Festival of India 2017 which was organised at Goa this year. Based on the lives of nurses stuck in Tikrit, Iraq, ‘Take Off’ had Parvathy playing one of the nurses. Parvathy delivered a stunning performance in the film and had impressed Malayalam movie buffs. Directed by Mahesh Narayan, ‘Take Off’ also stars Fahadh Faasil and Divya Prabha in pivotal roles. The film also won the Best Film Award in the Special Jury category at the IFFI 2017.

Parvathy has been in the Malayalam film industry for close to a decade but has been choosy in selecting her films. Parvathy has acted in close to 20 films in Malayalam and Kannada film industries. Parvathy will next be seen in a film directed by Anjali Menon who had made the memorable film ‘Bangalore Days’, which starred Parvathy too. This yet to be titled film will also Nazriya Nazim, who will be making a comeback after taking a break from films after getting married to Fahadh Faasil. Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing the lead in this film which is yet to be titled.

Parvathy’s Bollywood debut, ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’, starred Irfan Khan in the lead role and had the actress pay a South Indian in the film. The film received a positive response from day 1 and Parvathy was appreciated for her performance in the film.

She is beautiful plus a powerhouse performer. None of it is elevated in her recent Hindi movie. Thats what Bollywood does to talent!
