Director Jeethu Joseph, who is known for his film Drishiyam, is all set to make his way to Bollywood. The Malayalam director has geared up for his first Bollywood venture starring Rishi Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi. The remake of the 2012 Spanish thriller El Cuerpo or The Body, the shooting of the film recently commenced in Mauritius.
Bollywood veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who is also a part of the film, tweeted a picture of him with director Jeethu Joseph and Emraan Hashmi and captioned it as, “Wonderful working with our director Jitu Joseph and the evergreen actor,lover and the gracious well mannered Emran Hashmi. Mauritius. “The Body” (hope that’s the title).”

Meanwhile, actress Vedhika Kumar is all set for her Bollywood debut with Jeethu Joseph’s first Hindi film. Titled, ‘The Body, the film is a crime thriller remake of the 2012 Spanish film. Reportedly, Vedhika was chosen for the role after she went several rounds of audition.
Vedhika has appeared in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films and got her big break as Angamma in the acclaimed period film Paradesi in 2013.
Director Jeetu Joseph recently made the revelation on Vedhika’s character in the film. He is very much confident about Vedhika’s pairing with Emraan Hashmi and thinks it would be a fresh pairing to watch out for.
Talking to Mumbai Mirror, he said, “The character is of a young college-going girl with some innocence about her. She fits the role beautifully. Her pairing with Emraan will be fresh and one to watch out for.”
The film will be produced by Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
