Kamal Haasan, who is quite an outspoken individual, recently weighed in on Malayalam star Dileep’s alleged involvement in the infamous actress assault case and said that it is every man’s responsibility to ensure the safety of women. He went on to add that we need to support the victim not because she is a star but because she is a woman.
“It doesn’t matter if she is a heroine or a normal woman. It is the duty and responsibility of every single man, including me, to safeguard and protect women. We are not supporting her, because she’s an actress. It is about the safety of every single woman,” he added.
In case you did not know, earlier this year, a noted actress was abducted and assaulted while on her way to Kochi. Dileep came under the radar when the main suspect/accused Pulsar Suni tried contacting him from jail. On July 10, the cops called him for questioning and arrested him thereafter. Following his arrest, some Malayalam stars attended an emergency meeting of AMMA and expelled him from the organisation. It remains to be seen what impact this ends up having on the ‘Love 24×7’ star’s career.
On a related note, this a busy time for Haasan. He is currently hosting the Tamil version of ‘Bigg Boss’. Besides this, he has ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ and ‘Sabaash Naidu’ in his kitty. ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ is a spy-thriller and is a sequel to ‘Vishwaroopam’. On the other hand, ‘Saabash Naidu’ is touted to be a spy-comedy and also features Shruti Haasan in the lead.
