Kerala High Court refuses to grant police protection to Dileep starrer Ramleela

According to a leading website, the Kerala high court has refused to give police protection to theatres screening Dileep’s Ramleela which hits screens on September 28. Producer Tomichan Mulakuppadam had earlier stated that there was a threat of the public attacking theatres playing Ramleela and requested the court to provide police protection. However, the court turned down the request and stated that doing so was not possible.

In case you did not know, ‘Ramleela’ was originally slated to arrive in theatres on July 7 but got delayed because of some pending post-production work. Thereafter, the makers decided to release it on July 21. Sadly, these plans went for a toss when Dileep was arrested on July 10 in connection with the actress assault case. Now, that it is finally arriving in theatres it will be worth watching if it is able to make a mark at the box office.  Touted to be a political-thriller, it features Dileep in the role of a politician and also has Varalaxmi Sharathkumar in the lead.

On a related note, Dileep has been in custody since July 10. A few days ago, he was allowed to come out of jail for two hours to attend the Remembrance meet of his dad. After performing the required rituals, he was taken back into custody amidst tight security. In the meanwhile, the public too seems to be highly upset with the star. Recently, an angry mob attacked Sreenivasan‘s house when he spoke out in favour of Dileep. It will be worth watching what happens next.
