In a shocking development, the Kerala police officials have suspended the police officer who had helped Pulsar Suni, the primary accused in the Malayalam actress assault case, get in touch with actor Dileep from inside the jail. The officer, Aneesh of Kalamassery AR Camp, was arrested on Saturday and was let off on bail later by the police. The officials have also started an enquiry into this case after evidence emerged that Aneesh tried sending audio clips to actor Dileep and director Nadirshah, according to a report in TNM.
It is also being reported that Aneesh’s phone was used to make calls to the online boutique owned by Kavya Madhavan, wife of actor Dileep. Aneesh was one of the first officers to who Suni confessed that Dileep was the one who was involved behind the assault, reports suggest. Aneesh helped Suni contact Dileep via phone while the accused was being taken to court, reports further suggest.
Dileep was arrested on July 10 this year for his alleged involvement in the Malayalam actress abduction and kidnap. The police proceeded with the arrest after they found some ‘irrefutable’ evidence against the actor in the case. It is also reported that the remand report of Dileep mentioned that Dileep’s statements, while being questioned before arrest, did not match and that’s when police are said to have grown suspicious.
Dileep’s bail plea has been rejected by the Angamaly Court and the Kerala High Court as well stating his release could ‘influence’ the proceedings of the investigation. Dileep is currently jailed at the Aluva sub-jail.
