Actor Siddique

According to a leading daily, the Special Investigation Team(SIT) recently questioned actor Siddique in connection with the Malayalam actress assault case. The SIT, apparently, decided to question him as he is quite close to superstar Dileep who was arrested on July 10 in connection with the case. Interestingly, in 2013, Dileep had confronted the victim during a stage show rehearsal and rebuked her for spilling the beans about his affair with Kavya Madhavan. Back then, it was Siddique who had stepped in and pacified both parties. The cops apparently asked Siddique about the incident. Moreover, they asked him to name those who spoke in Dileep’s favour during an AMMA meet.

It goes without saying that Siddique’s answers could go a long way in determining Dileep’s fate. As it so happens, the SIT had previously grilled Kavya and Idavela Babu in connection with the same case. As such, it can safely be said that the investigation is moving at a brisk pace.

In case you did not know, earlier this year, a popular actress was abducted and assaulted while on her way to Kochi. This incident created a buzz in the industry and soon AMMA organised a protest meet to condemn the assault.  Dileep came under the radar when the main accused Pulsar Suni tried reaching out to him from prison.

On July 10, the cops called him for questioning and arrested him, thereafter. Post his arrest, he was sentenced to judicial custody. Following this, Dileep was expelled from AMMA as well as his own body FEOUK. A few days ago, the Kerala high court refused to grant him bail and asked him to remain in custody.

Based on the recent developments, it can safely be said that this case is far from over. It will be worth watching what happens next.
