Indian PM Narendra Modi recently invited Malayalam megastar Mammootty to join his ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement and lend more credibility to it. Now, the veteran actor has responded to his invitation. In his Facebook post, Mammootty said that he would be more than happy to be a part of the well-received initiative. He went on to add that NaMo is doing a good thing by following in Mahatma Gandhi’s footsteps.
“At the outset, while accepting your invitation to take part in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva ‘ movement, let me congratulate you on your emphasis on cleanliness, which the Mahatma said, is godliness,” he added.
However, at the same time, Mammootty said that personal hygiene should always be given top priority as cleanliness always begins at a personal level.
“We all know that personal hygiene has to be given top priority, and once an individual learns to respect his own body he will be inspired to spread the word of cleanliness to those around him. I am of the view that commitment to planet earth and our country has to begin with the first step of ensuring that we keep our homes clean first, and then we set out to keep our promise to our brethren and the whole of our country and world,” he added.
Well, we are sure that’s Mammootty’s association with the initiative is going to enhance its reach in a big way and add a new dimension to it. On a related note, Mammootty was last seen in ‘Pullikaaran Staara’ which hit screens during Onam and opened to a decent response at the box office. He will next be seen in ‘Masterpiece’.
