Mammootty to play a cop in Khalid Rahman's next? Read to know

Actor Mammootty has impressed his fans with his character as police in many films. His popular police roles include – Rajan Zacharia in Kasaba, ACP Narendran in Raudram, Shanmughan in Black among others. Now according to reports, he is all set to play a cop Khalid Rahman’s next titled as Unda. The shooting of the film will go on floors in September. Reportedly, the team has tentatively locked ‘Unda’ as the title of the film. There are even chances for the makers of the film to find another title for the movie. The film is said to be written based on a real-life incident. An official confirmation regarding the same is expected soon.

On the work front, Mammootty will be seen in a biopic on Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy. To be directed by Mahi Raghava, the biopic on Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy has been titled Yatra. The makers recently released the first poster of the film featuring Mammootty. There were reports that actress Nayanthara will play the female lead role in the film. However, no official confirmation regarding the cast has been made yet.

Mammootty was last seen in ‘Uncle’ directed by Gireesh Damodar. The film released last month and received mixed reviews from the audience. The plot of the film revolved around the struggles faced by the girls who study outside Kerala. CIA movie fame Karthika Muraleedharan plays the female lead. This is her second film in Malayalam and it is surely a crucial one of her career. She had made her debut as an actress with the Dulquer Salmaan starrer Comrade In America. Mathew, Muthumani and KPAC Lalitha too are in the movie. The shooting of the film has been done in Ootty and Kozhikkode. Uncle, directed by debutant Girish Damodar, was jointly produced by actor Joy Mathew and Sajay Sebastian.
