The much-loved Mammootty is arguably one of the most decorated names in Malayalam cinema today. During an iconic career that spans over four decades, the veteran has won the love of fans courtesy his evergreen personality, gripping performances, and versatility as a performer. Furthermore, he has won several accolades and proved that he is the pride of Malayalam cinema. Now, his fans have a reason to rejoice.
According to reports, Mammootty is all set to play a cop on the big screen once again. If all goes as planned, M-town’s ‘Best Actor’ will be donning the Khaki for a film to be directed by Shaji Padoor. Titled ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’, the film will be a pakka cop story and will go on the floors in 2018. As it so happens, ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’ is being scripted by The Great Father-fame Haneef Adeni and is slated to hit screens next summer.
Interestingly, Mammootty is no stranger to playing a cop on the big screen. He has played a copper on the big screen previously in films such as ‘Dhartiputra’, ‘Inspector Balram’ and ‘Kasaba’. As such, fans are bound to have high expectations from ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’
On a related note, Mammootty was last seen in ‘Pullikkaran Staraa’ which opened to a mixed response from fans and critics alike. At present, he has ‘Streelights’, ‘Masterpiece’ and ‘Raja 2’ in his kitty. All in all, even at this age, he is as busy as a bee.
