The highly respected Mammootty is beyond any doubt one of the most revered names in Malayalam cinema today. During an enviable career that spans over four decades, the National award winner has won the love of fans courtesy his dashing personality, gripping performances, and remarkable range as an actor. Moreover, over the years, he has been a part of several popular films and proved that he is a synonym for greatness.
Now, there is some awesome news for his fans. According to a leading daily, the veteran is all set to collaborate with ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ director Tom Emmakatty for a film based on a real person. In the film. Mammookka will be seen essaying a character named Kaatalan Porinju who was a cult figure in Thrissur in the 1980s. Talking about the film, the director said that it will have a realistic feel to it and feature plenty of action scenes.
“Mammukka’s character is named Kaatalan Porinju, who was well known in the Thrissur market in the 1980s. The real person was a larger than life character and some of the incidents in his life are stranger than fiction,” he added.
He also made it clear that he does not know when the film will go on the floors as he still has to finish the script.
“He has a lot of projects lined up but said he will take a call as soon as the script is complete. As it’s based on a real life character, we have to finish the research too before penning the script,” added the director.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Mammootty. At present, he has a host of films in his kitty. They include ‘Uncle’, ‘Raja 2’ and ‘Bilal’.
