Are you a fan of the iconic Mammootty? If yes then get ready to rejoice as we have some good news for you. According to the latest reports, his eagerly-awaited ‘Raja 2’ may hit screens during the festive season of Vishu next year. The film will be directed by Vysakh and is touted to be a spinoff of the 2010 release ‘Pokkiri Raja’. It will be written by Udayakrishna.
Interestingly, Sometime ago, Udayakrishna had revealed that ‘Raja 2’ will be quite different from ‘Pokkiri Raja’.
“Raja 2 is completely different from Pokkiri Raja and so the setting is also unrelated. The movie follows Raja’s character and the story entirely revolves around him,” he had told a leading daily/
In case you did not know, ‘Pokkiri Raja’ was an action-drama and also featured Prithviraj in the lead. A commercial success, it was later remade in Hindi and Telugu as ‘Boss’ and ‘Bhai’, respectively. While Akshay Kumar starred in the Bollywood version, Nagarjuna did the honours in the Tollywood remake.
Needless to say, fans will be curious to know whether ‘Raja 2’ is able to live up to expectations.
