Mani Ratnam feels that Dulquer Salmaan’s Solo is ‘promising’

There can be no denying that Dulquer Salmaan is one of the most popular and talented young stars in Malayalam cinema today. During his reasonably eventful career, the 31-year-old star has won the love of fans thanks to his charming personality, lover boy smile and of course effective performances. Moreover, he has impressed movie goers with his simple nature. And, now, DQ’s fans a reason to rejoice. As it so happens, during a recent interaction a leading news agency, director Mani Ratnam praised his upcoming film ‘Solo’ and said that it looks quite promising

“Going by the first glimpse of the film, it looks very promising. I’m looking forward to the film,” he added.

Well, we are pretty sure that Dulquer will be quite pleased to receive such compliments from a filmmaker of Mani’s calibre.

Interestingly, while speaking to the news agency, Solo’s director Bejoy Nambiar too praised DQ and revealed some exciting details about the film “We have shot every scene twice. Once in Tamil and the second time in Malayalam. It was like shooting two films at the cost and time of making one film,” he added.

In case you did not know, ‘Solo’ is touted to be a romantic-thriller and will be released in September. Besides Dulquer, it features Neha Sharma and Shruthi Hariharan in the lead.

Interestingly, this is a busy time for DQ. Besides ‘Solo’, he has ‘Mahanati’ in his kitty. He will be playing a character based on Gemini Ganesan in this one.
