One of the most awaited shows in television’s history, Bigg Boss Malayalam, as we all know will be hosted by none other than superstar Mohanlal. The show will host 16 contestants this year and will be on air for over three months. Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1 premieres tonight at 7 pm on Asianet and Mohanlal seems to be quite prepared for the show in his own way. The actor is currently in Mumbai for the shooting of Bigg Boss Malayalam. The set of the show was erected at a film city at Goregaon.

Recently, in an interview with Times of India, Mohanlal spoke about how he has prepared for the reality show and is taking up it as a challenge. He said, “I am totally new to the show. I understand that my job is to present it well. They had explained the general rules. I believe it has the same format as the other shows – 16 participants stay in a house and close to 60 cameras will monitor them 24×7 for 100 days. Every week a contestant will be eliminated, and the winner will be chosen from the final three.”

He further added, “I am in the dark about the expected TRP and budgets; my priority is to present this show in a way that I know, based on my years of understanding of the Malayali audience. I haven’t referred to the other shows and I hope to bring my own twist to it, within the framework of the show.”

Mohanlal also spoke that how he does not want to be intimidating by the hosts of the reality show in other languages. The actor said, “I have only watched one or two episodes of Big Boss because of my busy shoot schedules so I don’t know how Kamal Haasan or Salman Khan had presented their versions. I don’t want to be serious or intimidating. I can present it the way I know, in a friendly manner. However, I don’t know what is expected of me. As I said, I am new to the show.”

The show will be telecast Monday to Friday at 9.30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm

On the work front, Mohanlal’s upcoming suspense thriller film, Neerali is all set to release on July 12. Neerali, which was slated to release on June 14 has got postponed to the next month.
