Mohanlal-Priyadarshan film on Kunjali Marakkar is a talk of the town ever since it was announced. Well, according to reports, the film has a new addition to the star cast. Mohanlal and Tamil superstar Prabhu will be seen together in Priyadarshan’s upcoming big-budget project ‘Kunjali Marakkar’. This is really a big news as that two talented stars are coming together after almost 22 years. Their last film was ‘Kalapani’ in 1996 which was also directed by Priyadarshan.
Priyadarshan’s film is currently in a pre-production stage. The casting for Priyadarshan’s movie named ‘Kunjali Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ is in progress. It is being reported that the makers of the film roped in veteran actor Madhu to play the role of Marakkar first. However, there has been no confirmation regarding the same. The film will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Santosh T Kuruvilla, and CJ Roy.
Meanwhile, Mammootty’s Kunjali Marakkar IV, which is based on the similar subject, is being directed by Santosh Sivan. Santosh had expressed that he wanted to make the movie with Mammootty in the lead, Priyadarshan, on the other hand, expressed his interest to cast Mohanlal in his film. Well, this made everyone wonder if things will fall in the right place for both of them. However, both films are now very much on the cards. Mammootty’s Kunjali Marakkar is being penned by writers TP Rajeevan and Shankar Ramakrishnan.
On the work front, Mohanlal’s upcoming suspense thriller film, Neerali is all set to release on July 12. Neerali, which was slated to release on June 14 has got postponed to the next month. Neerali is a new-age film and is being directed by Ajoy Varma which was launched recently. And guess what Mohanlal will also croon a romantic single in the film alongside Shreya Ghoshal which will be composed by Stephen Devassy.
Besides, Mohanlal has an interesting line-up of films like Odiyan, Kayamkulam Kochunni. Odiyan will have Mohanlal sport multiple looks ranging from a 25-year-old to a 60-year-old while Kayamkulam Kochunni will have Mohanlal playing a period character.
