Mohanlal starrer Villain is not a conventional mass masala package, says director

Noted director B Unnikrishnan—who is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Villain’—recently interacted with his fans and said that the film is not a regular masala-packed commercial entertainer. He went on to add that the film has a well-defined plot and the audience should watch it with an open mind.

“There is a tremendous response to Villain already, which is seen after the reservations started. There have been so many questions on what this film is about and what to expect. I definitely understand your excitement. But I don’t want to create a certain expectation in your mind. Watch it with an open mind. Villain is not a conventional mass masala package. There is a definite plot and we have tried to convey that to the viewer,” he added.

Well, this is quite an interesting statement and is bound to add to the buzz surrounding the film. We wish Unnikrishnan the very best for ‘Villain’ and hope that the film does well at the box office. In case you did not know, ‘Villain’ is touted to be a crime-thriller and features the legendary Mohanlal in the lead. Lalettan will be playing the role of a retired police officer. Besides Mohanlal, the film also has Manju Warrier, Vishal and Hansika Motwani in the lead. Vishal will be playing a negative role in what will be the first Mollywood film of his career.
