Nayanthara to star in a Malayalam thriller titled Kottayam Kurbana

In an exciting development, noted actor Nayanthara has agreed to play the lead role in a Mollywood thriller titled Kottayam Kurbana. The film is touted to be a female-centric affair and will revolve around her character. Confirming this, a source said that Nayan will begin work on Kottayam Kurbana as soon as she finishes work on her pending films.

“Once she’s relieved of her existing commitments, she’ll begin shooting for this film,” added the source.

The ‘Lady Superstar’ is no stranger to Mollywood. Her most notable Malayalam films are Bhaskar The Rascal and Puthiya Niyamam. It will be worth watching if Kottayam Kurbana helps her consolidate her standing even further.

On a related note, 2017 was a good year for Nayanthara. She delivered a hit in the form of Aramm and gave her fans a reason to rejoice. The film featured her in the role of a collector and did well at the box office. She also received praise for her work in Velaikkaran. Also featuring Sivakartthikeyan in the lead, it did decent business at the box office.

Nayan stated off 2018 with Jai Simha. The film saw her act opposite Balakishna and did reasonably well at the box office.
At present, she also has Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Imaikkaa Nodigal in her kitty. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is touted to be a period drama and will see her act opposite megastar Chiranjeevi. A highly ambitious attempt at storytelling, it also has Tamannaah and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. A Surender Reddy directorial, it is likely to hit screens in 2019.

As far as Imaikkaa Nodigal is concerned, it is a thriller and has been directed by Ajay Gananamuthu. In it, she will be seen alongside Atharvaa and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
