If you are a fan of the much-loved Parvathy, then we have some awesome news in store for you. In an exciting development, her critically-acclaimed Take Off has won a special mention at the National Film awards 2018. It has also bagged the National award for best production design. This is indeed a proud moment for her fans and we would like to convey our heartiest congratulations to her.
In case you did not know, Take Off is a drama-thriller and has been directed by Mahesh Narayan. It is based on actual events and highlights the plight of Indian nurses in Iraq. It also features Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban in the lead. The supporting cast features names such as Airlift actor Prakash Belwadi and Anjali Aneesh.
Interestingly, last year, Parvathy had won the best actress at IFFI 2017 for the same film and added a new dimension to her career. While taking about the achievement, the star had said that the win would break stereotypes about the type of roles women should essay on the big screen.
“Till Monday, the fact that Take Off reached IFFI was itself a victory, especially for the non-stereotypical characters that are written for women. So the age-old myth about actresses having to be a certain way, in terms of how they look or feel in films has been changed. Here Sameera’s only goal is to deal with issues in her life. She’s least interested in her romance, in that being her dramatic need. This opens up a world of possibilities to the writers we have, who have been told that that won’t work for our audience,” she had told a daily.
At present, Parvathy has a film with Anjali Menon in her kitty. In it, she will be seen alongside actor Nazriya Nazim and superstar Prithviraj
